Phone sign in

Hello,

I can prove that I bought the phone. I have the receipt and the fact this phone is on my plan. I just want him to be able to call me whenever he gets done with practice or in case of emergencies. When I look through his account setting for the email I set up for him it shoes the phone activtied through the email account but it won't let me,use that email to sign into the phone.
