Hi Rv123,
There are a few ways to format a pen drive. I would run the Command Prompt as an Administator and type the following commands:
Diskpart
List Disk
Select disk n (n must be the number of the drive)
Attributes disk clear readonly
Exit
This way you should lift the write protection. Now you can try to format the drive directly from Disk Management. Open Disk Management, right click the drive and format it.
