I can't remember my password and I'm locked out of my laptop

My son will see if he can do anything with it. I just realized that when typing on the keyboard, the mouse or pointer or what ever you call it, was moving around. So there is no way to figure out what the original password was it that was happening at the time. Thanks for your time. Good night! that is important also!
