My girlfriend's IPod touch has been dead for about a year now being as we both got new iPhones(6s and 6s+). She has now decided she wants to use the iPod touch just for music. After we got it fully charged and turned on, we noticed that the edged of the screen looked like it was going out. Not real bad but there is spots that look like a little bit of the screen went out. On the bottom edge of the screen its somewhat glitchy. when she wasn't using it, it was kept in a safe spot so it wasn't dropped or beat up and thrown around. I don't know if this can be fixed with out getting a new screen, but i'm willing to try anything before taking that step and buying a new screen.
all answer and suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance to any help

More than likely that is a mechanical/physical failure.
