PC is turned on but monitor won't display.

Hello,
recently i encountered a problem where when i turn on my pc and the monitor would display nothing but i know for a fact that it isn't a software malfunction because i just usually try to hard reset it or sometimes wait it out then it suddenly started to display the boot up and i can hear the clicking sounds and start up bg on my headset. I searched for possible answers on the internet but avail no luck during my searches. Is it just my monitor that's broken or do you think my mobo has something to do with it?
