hello,

I just moved to student residence, where a company offers ethernet connection through cable, so I subscribed and connected the RJ45 cable to my laptop to have a near 200 Mbps connection,
The problem is when I purchased a router to connect the cable to and enjoy a wifi connection. It is Very Slow , a speed of 0.25 Mbps which is not normal.
the router i purchased is :
OMEGA 150M HIGH GAIN ROUTER

Hi,

did you set it up as an access point?

Did you play about with any of the advanced wifi settings?

Are you able to connect to another wifi and run a speed test?

hello,
I selected the access point option visible in the image below:

I did this because when I selected the router option I had no internet access

I didn't play with any of the advanced options

and yes I am currently connected through my phone to a wifi network with a speed of 157.55 Mbps

You will want it to be an access point as your device isnt the default gateway, DNS or DHCP server.

Also, change you wifi key as it's too easy to guess.

What is on the wifi set up page?

can you show me that?
