How to recover files on memory card hidden by virus?

Hello,

I have a memory card that has been infected by some virus when it was plugged into a computer in a shady internet cafe in the Solomon Islands.

There's about 6 GB of videos on the card and I can view them when the card is in the camcorder, but when I plug the card into my MacBook I can't see any of them.

I have found numerous solutions for this problem after Googling, but they're all for Windows computers.. Does anyone have a solution for this on Mac? I'd rather not format the memory cards because I don't want to risk losing my videos...
