Hello,

My External Hard Drive has almost 2TB of Data on it.
Last week, I opened it and it says 'This folder is Empty'
However, it does state that only 66GB of space is free so my files must still be there.

I've tried this in Cmd Prompt:

attrib -h -r -s /s /d l:\*.*

BUT all it says is 'file not found' (note: l is the letter assigned to my hard drive)

Any and all help is appreciated :)

P.S. I'm not very computer savy so please dumb things down

Take a look which file system the drive is, HFS+, NTFS ? What OS system computer do you own? HFS+ is Mac OS file system, and NTFS is Windows OS file system.
Mac computer cannot access the NTFS file system drive, and Windows computer cannot access the HFS+ file system drive

This can be a possibility....just putting up reasons for not seeing the data.

IF you have no or lost permissions, the folder will show as empty, try looking at the folder permissions!

Please let me know if this was of any help.

It is NTFS and I'm using it on my Windows 10 computer

How do I check folder permissions?
