Acer 1410 trouble: Error code: ssl_error_protocol_version_alert

I have revived my Acer 1410 which never had those problems 4 years ago. Now I'm having a problem accessing the internet and keep getting an error saying: "Error code: ssl_error_protocol_version_alert". My Acer 1410 can connect to my wireless but I am still unable to connect to even the above which was/is gmail........
appreciate assist....thanks much

Please explain:
