Don't scream but I've got a problem in a problem.

First I reset my logon and password and forgot them. Biggest mistake of my life so far.

And yes I've tried using a blank user id and admin as password and doesn't work.

Second I tried the safe command mode with prompt
This would work if I could see all the files but once it starts scrolling it waits and then pops up the Windows logon box. I think the font is too large because in the lower left and right hand of the screen reads SAFE MODE.

How to reduce the font before the system files start scrolling would be nice to know.

I've done f2 for setup, f8 for bios and f12 for boot.

I've downloaded onto a USB drive from Microsoft website the win xp operating system and of course the laptop reads Missing Operating System.

Is this referring to the Windows XP or internet explorer?

I do not have the original CDs but I do have the product key and serial tag.

I've performed bios and diagnostics test and everything is ok.

Is there a function key to reduce the screen type when in safe mode?
