Laptop computer os charging but the screen is black

I have a toshiba satellite L755....the computer os charging but the screen is black....ive tried holding the power button and 0 that didn't work....I also tried taking the battery out and that didnt work either.....do you have any other suggestions?

Please explain what you mean by the computer os charging, os means operating system.
