Facebook wants me to enter my date of birth but won't accept yea

Hi,
My Facebook account has been locked so I have to go through Security check requiring me to enter my date of birth. I was born in the 50's but the dropdown box won't accept any year earlier than 1971. I have tried to ask this question of Facebook but I can only do this when I am logged in- Catch 22

Catch 22 ! Did you see the film?

I suggest that it's a temporary bug, Delete all of your temporary files and cookies and try again.

The 50's ! Great years! Great people!

P.S. Our Queen accessed the throne in 1952.
