This week, Fujifilm announced a new 35 mm weather-resistant X-Series lens, available from November.
The Fujifilm XF 35mm f2 WR lens was originally unveiled back in February and now, the company has announced that the lens will soon be available for purchase. The Fujifilm XF 35mm f2 WR will be available from November for $399, which is relatively inexpensive for its features. The lens packs a focal length equivalent to 53 mm, a maximum aperture of F2.0, and is weather and dust-resistant. The lens can operate at temperatures as low as -10° and is protected with eight seals on the lens barrel to protect the lens from the elements. The lens itself is created from 9 elements in 6 groups, including two aspherical elements, to allow for such high-quality images in such a compact size.
In addition to the new weather-resistant lens, Fujifilm also introduced a new 1.4x weather-sealed teleconverter: Fujinon XF 1.4 TC WR. The teleconverter is not compatible with all lenses but is expected to work with XF 50-140mm f2.8 and future lenses. The Fujinon XF 1.4 TC WR is also expected to be available from November and will be priced at $450. Earlier this month, Fujifilm unveiled a new instant camera: the Fujifilm Instax Mini 70 camera. The Instax Mini 70 will be available from November for $139, with film sold separately. Instax Mini Instant film is currently priced at $19.95 for a pack of 20 exposures. The Instax Mini 70 offers a new selfie mode, easily shared physical and digital photos, and will be available in Canary Yellow, Moon White, and Island Blue.
