Over the weekend, Alcatel OneTouch announced a slew of new products for CES 2016, including new PIXI 4 products.
"From concerned parents to first-time smartphone users, we have a device to fit every need," said Dan Dery, Chief Marketing Officer at Alcatel OneTouch in a statement on the new lineup. "Our new line will be showcased at our booth at CES. We invite everyone for a hands-on trial of the devices to experience the excellent value we offer our consumers." Among the devices being showcased this week will be the PIXI 4 family, including 3.5-inch and 4-inch smartphones, a 6-inch phablet, and a 7-inch tablet. Alcatel OneTouch calls the PIXI 4 family "premium entry-level devices" in a press release, but has not gone into detail on these devices at this time. Alcatel OneTouch also unveiled its first Windows Mobile device, the 8-inch PIXI 3 tablet, which runs Windows 10.
Outside of the PIXI lines, Alcatel OneTouch unveiled a new wearable for kids. Dubbed the CareTime Children's Watch, this brightly colored smartwatch is designed to help parents keep tabs on their kids. "With this GPS tracking device, parents can call or send voice messages to their children, and children can reply or make calls to pre-set contacts," explained Alcatel OneTouch. The smartwatch also comes with an app that alerts parents when their children enter or leave a predetermined "safe zone." The companion app is compatible with iOS 7 and higher, as well as Android 4.3 and up. Designed for children aged 5 to 9, kids can have up to 10 pre-set contacts on the device and it packs a battery life of up to four days. The CareTime Children's Watch will be available in Europe and Latin America starting in April 2016, with more markets expected to follow.
