A new Yuneec drone offers users a Hollywood-grade camera experience at a competitive price.
"Meet the newest category-creating drone from Yuneec: The Typhoon H," posted Yuneec on the official launch video for its new drone. "Equipped with six rotors, a 360-degree gimbal camera and retractable landing gear at an unprecedented price of $1,799, the Typhoon H is set to provide the latest professional grade features to consumers everywhere." This device is ready to alter the current cinema drone playing field significantly, and possibly even dethrone (or at least destabilize) the industry-leading DJI Inspire 1. With its show-stopping features, the truly competitive edge of this drone is its price. Comparable professional-grade drones by other manufacturers can range anywhere from $2,500 and up.
Along with its state-of-the-art camera, the Typhoon H also comes with autonomous features and on-board software like "ultrasonic proximity detection," a feature which helps the drone avoid collisions with large objects. When it comes to recreational and professional drone use alike, there is certainly a market for drones with more autonomous flying capabilities, minimizing the need to hone the skill of piloting a drone. Parrot, for example, has just released its Disco drone which it describes as "the first everyone can easily pilot... no piloting skills are required." Other features of the Typhoon H include the ability to safely stabilize and land in the event of a lost rotor, Low-Battery Return Home, and more.
