Google has announced a new Valentine's Day promotion, slashing the prices of its Nexus smartphones.
Earlier this month, Google's 5.2-inch Nexus 5X received a permanent $30 price cut, and for a limited time, the tech giant has now brought the price down by another $50. For this Valentine's Day promotion, called "Better together," users can get an unlocked 16GB Nexus 5X for just $299, or the 32GB model for $349, down from $379 and $429, respectively. The Valentine's Day promotion also includes the new matte gold variant of the Nexus 6P. The gold device is priced at $449 for the 32GB model and $499 for the 64GB device, down from $499 and $549, respectively. In addition to the $50 discount on the gold Nexus 6P, Google is offering a $50 discount on a Huawei Watch with the purchase of any Nexus 6P device.
These Valentine's Day deals are not exclusive to the United States. In fact, some Nexus fans in Europe are getting an even better deal. The starting price of the Nexus 5X has been slashed by €80, and the Nexus 6P's price is down €100. These prices are consistent across several countries where the devices are available, but not the UK. Currently, there are no Valentine's Day specials for the UK, where the starting prices for the Nexus 5X and 6P are £299 and £449, respectively. These deals are only available for a limited time and will run through Valentine's Day, according to a Google spokesperson.
