On Friday, LG announced that it will launch its newly-unveiled G5 in India next quarter.
"We are really happy to see all the positivity around the LG G5 ever since its global unveil at the MWC," said LG's Mobile Marketing Head Amit Gujral in a statement on the device. "In fact, in a survey conducted in Korea the LG G5 topped consumer preference leaving its closest competitors trailing far behind. We hope to make this available to users in India very soon and are optimistic that consumers will love its revolutionary design and features." The Indian G5 launch is expected to follow the device's global launch in April and is believed to be priced around Rs 50,000 for the region.
"The initial response to our new LG G5 has been phenomenal and rewards the effort our experts have made to create something genuinely innovative and unique in the smartphone space," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "The G5 and its Friends modules are aimed at giving consumers a more playful smartphone experience and these awards suggest that we have offered something truly different in the market." The LG G5 features a "Modular Type" design that, with the help of its "Friends" or peripherals, can transform the smartphone into a digital camera, Hi-Fi player, and more. The smartphone sports a 5.3 inch Quad HD IPS Quantum display, 16 and 8 megapixel rear cameras, 8 megapixel front-facing camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of in-built storage expandable up to 2 TB, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
