On Wednesday, Amazon announced that it expanded Prime Free Same-Day Delivery to 11 more U.S. metropolitan areas.
This service is now available in the Charlotte, Cincinnati, Fresno, Louisville, Milwaukee, Nashville, Raleigh, Richmond, Sacramento, Stockton, and Tucson metropolitan areas, as well as new areas in Central New Jersey, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, and San Diego. With this addition, Prime members in these areas will now be able to place an order in the morning and receive all same-day orders over $35 "before bedtime that very same day, seven days a week – even Sunday." Amazon now offers Prime Free Same-Day Delivery in 27 metropolitan areas across the United States, accounting for more than 1,000 cities and towns. Orders placed in the morning with Prime Free Same-Day Delivery will arrive before 9 PM that same day, while orders placed in the afternoon or evening will arrive the next day. Amazon also offers ultra-fast, free two-hour delivery for 25 metropolitan areas for Prime members, in addition to its traditional free two-day shipping option. Prime Free Two-Day Delivery spans the continental U.S., including large cities and rural areas.
"Prime was developed to make shopping on Amazon fast and convenient, and millions of members have used Prime FREE Same-Day Delivery to make their lives even easier," said Greg Greeley, Vice President of Prime, in a statement on the expansion. "We keep making Prime better, and as our operational capabilities grow, we will continue to invent and expand delivery options that customers love."
