Microsoft has released a new keyboard app for iOS users designed with one-handed use in mind.
(CCM) — Released on Monday, the keyboard app is called Word Flow. "Word Flow for iPhone, a Microsoft Garage project, is a blazing fast keyboard that comes with free customization options and includes Arc mode for easy, ergonomic one-handed typing," explained Microsoft in the app's description. The keyboard supports swiping and tapping, and intelligently predicts what you're trying to say as you type it. Word Flow can suggest the next word in your sentence, learn over time, and correct typos in real-time. The app can also connect to your Contacts, allowing it to learn their names "so you can go even faster." Word Flow's background can be customized with images included in the app, or with one of your own images. Currently, Word Flow is limited to English-speaking iOS users and is optimized for iPhones. There is no word on when Word Flow might roll out to Android.
This is not the first iOS keyboard app from Microsoft. Earlier this month, the Redmond giant released another Garage keyboard app for iOS users: Hub Keyboard. This keyboard was designed with multi-tasking in mind, allowing users to quickly and easily access files and contacts directly from the keyboard. The Hub Keyboard has not been very successful on iOS, with just a two-star rating at the time of publication, and reviews calling it buggy and slow. The Hub Keyboard app on Android is slightly more successful, with a 3.5-star rating.
