Google wants its music service to be a part of your next trip, and now offers soundtracks for your vacation.
(CCM) — On Wednesday, Google announced that it has partnered with TripAdvisor to offer Android users a soundtrack for their trip based on their destination. "Starting today, with the TripAdvisor Android app you can access a wide array of well-known and hidden-gem soundtracks for popular cities to listen to, whether you're in travel-planning mode or on a road trip exploring the globe," said Brandon Bilinski, Product Manager for Google Play Music, in a blog post on the announcement. To use the new travel feature, simply search for a destination in the TripAdvisor app and tap the Soundtrack link.
This new destination-based feature is available to new and existing Google Play Music subscribers. New users can get a 2-month free trial of the music service from the TripAdvisor Android app, and will be offered this deal via the Soundtrack link. After this trial period, the service is available for $9.99 per month for a single user, or $14.99 per month for a family plan for up to 6 users in the U.S., though pricing may vary by region. The TripAdvisor app is free to download on the Google Play Store. Google did not say if it plans to roll out this feature to iOS or the web version of its music service in this announcement. This new feature is available in more than 60 countries across the globe, where Google Play Music is available.
