(CCM) — On Tuesday, Chinese tech company OnePlus held its second annual worldwide VR event in China, where fans were able to join the founders of the company via The Loop, a VR shopping site that can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. The first big reveal was the company's 2016 flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3, which will be made available to the public starting today and will be priced at USD 399. Reports have circulated that the OnePlus 3 will roll out to Indian and Chinese customers starting on Wednesday, sporting a price of Rs 27,999 (roughly CNY 2743 and USD 416). The OnePlus 3 is loaded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a 360-degree fingerprint scanner, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in memory. The smartphone also includes a 16-megapixel main and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Later in the event, the company will also launch the Loop VR headset, though customers who choose not to buy the Loop are still welcome to use any one of their own VR sets to experience the event. Shortly after the main preview comes to an end, OnePlus has plans to host pop-up events in New York, Berlin, Paris, and London.
