The Predator 21 X weights almost 18 pounds and is the world's first laptop to feature a curved 21-inch display.
(CCM) — Acer has unveiled a monstrous and powerful portable gaming laptop that features the world's first curved laptop screen. The Predator 21 X laptop weighs in at an astonishing 17.6 pounds (7.9 kg), needs two power supplies to keep it running, and is equipped with five system fans and eight heat pipes to keep its 7th Generation Intel Core processors, 64 GB of RAM, and the rest of the system cool. The machine's 2560 x 1080 curved screen measures 21 inches diagonally, and this is driven by two Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs to provide top-end gaming performance.
The Predator 21 X's mechanical keyboard has customizable RGB backlight settings for each individual key, and the numeric keypad can be removed and flipped over to reveal a touchpad. The laptop is also equipped with a SoundPound 4.2+ sound system which includes four speakers and 2 subwoofers, three-way audio, and Dolby Audio. The Predator 21 X is equipped with Tobii eye-tracking hardware and software to introduce new interactions like aiming, identifying enemies, and taking cover simply by gazing at objects on the screen during a game, the company says. The laptop is likely to be available later this year for a price of at least $5,000.
