Nintendo’s popular Super Mario Run game will soon debut on the Google Play Store.
(CCM) — On Friday, Nintendo revealed on its official Twitter account that its popular Super Mario Run game would debut on Android sometime around March of this year. The company also urged users to pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store. Doing so will allow them to receive a notification when the game becomes available for download in the app store.
Super Mario Run has experienced the fastest growing user base on iOS, trailing only behind Pokémon Go. It accumulated around 40 million downloads on the Apple App Store within four days of its launch. This was the case, even though Super Mario Run is only free up Level Three, after which, players are required to pay $9.99 to unlock the following levels. Before the Super Mario Run’s March Android launch, Nintendo will launch Fire Emblem: Heroes for iOS and Android, possibly hinting that there is a growing demand for Nintendo games on smartphones. It is an RPG game wherein players adopt the role of a soldier from the fictional kingdom of Askr with a mission to gather allies for battle. The new game will be launched simultaneously for both iOS and Android.
