Terry Halvorsen is expected to take charge of security solutions at Samsung Mobile.
(CCM) — The former Chief Information Officer for the US Department of Defense, Terry Halvorsen, is joining Samsung Mobile as an executive vice president.
Halvorsen's designation at Samsung Mobile has not been specified yet, but it seems he will manage security solutions at the company. Halvorsen has years of experience in handling security solutions, having served as CIO at the US Department of Defense. He has also worked as the deputy commander of the warfare division of the US Naval Network. Halvorsen retired in February 2017 and now he is all set to work for Samsung.
Samsung announced that Halvorsen would be working for Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications division. Rumors are spreading that Halvorsen is going to serve as the chief advisor to Samsung Mobile's CEO, JK Shin. He will be helping in the expansion of Samsung's security division in the US and Europe. Halvorsen's primary focus is enhancing Samsung's security solutions and softwares.
Samsung is hoping to rebrand itself by hiring known faces like Halvorsen. The company is pushing towards an overall restructure for the internal departments. It will be interesting to see what positive changes Halvorsen brings for Samsung.
