Google Duo App Makes Calls Without Installation

Google's Duo app can now make audio calls to recipients who don’t even have the app installed on their phones.

(CCM) — Google's Duo app can now make audio calls to users who don't even have it installed on their Android devices. The information was first shared by a Reddit user who noticed the app's new capability while using it. It allows recipients without the app to answer the call, hang up, mute, or flip the camera, just like users who have the app installed. It also enables recipients to block the caller from contacting them further.

This new Duo feature only enables external recipients to receive calls without the app; they can only make calls to other users once they have the app installed. For now, the surprise feature is limited to Android users and is likely to work only for a limited group of people in a user's contact list.
