EDM (Electronic Document Management or Electronic Content Management, ECM) covers the use of computerized means for the entire management of an electronic document (text file, spreadsheet, image, video, audio file, etc.).

The goal of EDM is to suceed in creating a repository for all documents of the company, whether structured (database, XML, etc.) or not (HTML, etc.) to be able to manage their life cycle, from the moment they are created to when they are destroyed.
