Windows Command Prompt or
cmd.exe is a Windows NT/2000/XP generic process that opens a text-mode console for running programs using a command line.
This article will explain its use to you and show you how to use it on your computer.
Using Windows Command Prompt (cmd.exe)
The process cmd is not in any way a
virus, a
worm, a
Trojan horse,
spyware, or
adware and it can be terminated when you want.
To launch the command prompt, go to the search bar in your computer’s
Start menu, and type Run.
When the window launches, type
cmd or
cmd.exe, then press
Enter. In the Command Prompt that opens, enter the command that you would like to execute.
