Windows - Rename the operating system (boot)

April 2018

In a multiboot, you can better identify your OS by renaming them.

Many users often ask it it is possible to rename the operating systems (displayed)

Indeed, there may end up with this, in multiboot:
  • Windows Vista Premium.
  • Windows Vista Premium.
  • Windows 7.
  • Windows 7.

It is very difficult to identify which system match those names if you can not remember the order in which they were installed.

But it is possible to rename them as (e.g):
  • Windows Vista Premium 32 Bit.
  • Windows Vista Premium 64 Bit.
  • Windows 7 32 Bit.
  • Windows 7 64 bit.

Download and install the Vista Boot Pro software.

Run it. This window appears:

Click on the (Manage OS Entries) tab.

  • Click the operating system you want to rename
  • Check the box (Rename OS Entry) and enter the new name.
  • Click Apply Updates
  • Restart your PC, it should be perfect.
