Windows XP - Printer spooler issue

You are getting error messages upon connecting your printer or scanner.

This may be because the print spooler ( that allows file transfer from your computer to your printer) is either stopped or a service that works exclusively with your printer was not launched.

  • Click "Start" then "Run" and type CMD
  • In the new window type:
    • net stop spooler
  • The spooler service is now stopped.
  • Type:
    • sc config spooler depend = RPCSS
  • It puts the default dependence on the RPC subsystem
  • Type:
    • net start spooler

  • The spooler service will restart

A few words of thanks would be greatly appreciated.
