Gnome - Hide the desktop icons


How can I hide the desktop icons (same as under Windows) when using Gnome desktop manager?


If you want to hide the desktop icon under gnome, simply launch the:

  • Apps
  • Nautilus
  • Preferences.
  • Uncheck the show_desktop option
  • Close gconf-editor.
