MSI's new 12-inch screen netbook : the Wind U250.
Mobility is in tune with the times as evidenced by the success of netbooks. However most of them are powered by an Intel Atom processors, which definitely lacks some punch.
But far from being limited to basic tasks (office and surfing the Internet) without going overa price of 500 euros, the new MSI notebook (which measures 19 x 29.7 x 3.1 cm and a weight of 1.5 pound with high capacity battery) sports the AMD Neo processor.
- The actual test model, still in the preproduction stage, includes an AMD Athlon II Neo K325 clocked at 1.3 GHz which seems to stall away the Atom by two cores (computing power of more than 20% of Atom Atom N450).
- For multimedia purposes, the overall rating is above 45%.
With its 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, the Wind U250 is a real laptop that will smoothly run the Windows 7 Home Premium edition. The 320 GB hard drive reaches an average throughput of 60.8 Mb/s. The v 12.1-inch display has an aspect ration of 16:9 with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. not show very sensitive to glare. The

- Count in a Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth connectivity, three USB and video outputs (HDMI and VGA).
- Two type of batteries are available. The small one (3 cells) fails to bring it through the 90 minutes of use, by cons the 6 cell one can reach 3 hours of intensive use.
