MacOS - Disable Time Machine notification



Each time you connect an external drive, Time machine will ask you if you want to use the latter as a backup media>

To disable this notification:
  • Open a terminal and type the following command:
  • defaults write com.apple.TimeMachine DoNotOfferNewDisksForBackup -bool YES


To enable it again:
  • defaults write com.apple.TimeMachine DoNotOfferNewDisksForBackup -bool NO
