SVCHOST.EXE cause my PC to lag

Issue


I would like to disable/Remove SVCHOST.EXE.
It taking over 50% of CPU usage.

Solution


Go to the Control Panel and disable the automatic update.
Open the task manager and kill the SVCHOST.EXE process.
  • Click "Start" then "run"
  • ype "REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL" (without the quotes) and press OK
  • When you get the message "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded" message, click OK.
  • Enter these following commands in "Run":
    • REGSVR32 Wuaueng.dll
    • REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
    • REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
    • REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
    • REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
    • Wups2.dll REGSVR32
    • REGSVR32 wuweb.dll
  • Click "Start" then "run" and type "cmd"
  • In the command prompt window that opens type in:
    • net stop wuauserv
  • Click "Start" then "run" and type "% windir%" this opens the system32 folder
  • Locate the folder "SoftwareDistribution" right-click it and rename it to "SDold".
  • Click "Start" then "run" and type "cmd"
  • In the command prompt window that opens type in:
    • net start wuauserv



Your problem is solved !!
