Debian - Change the console font

Issue

How to change the font of the console (tty1-6) under a Debian distribution?
It seems to me that with slackware there's the 'setconsolefont' command, but Debian sarge 3.1 does not seem to know this command.

Solution

Look for this file /etc/rc.conf ou /etc/conf.d/consolefont (as under Gentoo).

Try to see if you do not have a file like this:
updatedb
locate console

You'll need to relaunch the startup script for the changes to be take into account ... (/etc/init.d/consolefont restart)

Thanks to mamiemando for this tip.
