Windows 7 - Disable Remote Registry Access


The Remote registry access service as the name suggest allows remote users to perform modifications in your computer's registry. To disable this service:
  • Click on Start > Run > Type "services.msc"
  • In the Services window that opens, search for the following entry in the the right pane:
    • "Remote Registry"
  • Double-click on it and set its Startup type as "Disabled"
  • Click on OK to validate.
