Windows cannot configure wireless connection

The most common error on a wireless network occurs when Windows cannot configure the wireless connection, as it cannot find the specific software. Almost all laptops today have an built-in advanced functionality for wireless LAN networks or Wifi for faster cable-free communications. Wifi configuration issues are quite common and can be solved by activating the zero wireless configuration option. This will allow Windows to configure the wireless connection. If done correctly, the error explaining that Windows cannot configure the wireless connection which will not occur again.

If you have the following error message:

Windows can not configure the wireless connection, if you have authorized a program to manage the wireless connection, use this program if you want Windows to configure this wireless connection, start the wireless auto configuration. For more info, see article 871122 in the Knowledge Base on the Microsoft site

If no software was provided with the wireless network adapter:
  • Click Run in the Start menu, then type the following command:
    • ncpa.cpl 
  • Click OK
  • Go to Network Connections
  • Select the wireless connection and then Change Connection Settings
  • In the Wireless connection tab, check Use Windows to configure my wireless network
  • Activate the Wireless Zero Configuration

  • Click Run in the Start menu, then enter:
    • SystemRoot% \ system32 \ services.msc / s 
  • Double-click on Wireless Zero Configuration
  • In the Startup type box, click Automatic, and then select Apply
  • In Service Status, click Start and press OK
