Use Word 2003 and 2010 on the same PC

Issue

I currently have Microsoft Office 2003 and 2010. I want to install them on the same PC, is it possible?

Solution

Just add 2 registry key.

Using the registry editor:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options\NoReReg

value:1
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Options\NoReReg

value:1
...Office\11.0\... pour office 2003
...Office\12.0\... pour office 2007
...Office\14.0\... pour office 2010

From a command prompt:
  • reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1
  • reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Thanks to Eriic for this tip.
