Windows - Icon cache always corrupted

Several icons on my desktop are not displayed properly, I've tried to rebuilt the Icon cache , it worked for some time and then the same problem occurs.

Try to increase the size of the icon cache:
  • Click on Start > Run > regedit
  • Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
  • Create a new String (REG_SZ) value and name it as Max Cached Icons
  • Set its value to 2400
  • Close the registry and restart your PC.
