Excel - The TYPE function

Description


As the name already suggest the TYPE function returns the type of a value.
The value returned is a follows (based on their types)
  • For Numbers, 1 is returned
  • For Text, 2 is returned
  • For Logical value (TRUE or FALSE), 4 is returned
  • For Array, 64 is returned
  • For Error value (#N/A), 16 is returned

TYPE(value)
