Error message: "C:\windows\system32\config\system" is corrupt


Issue

I'm getting the following error message upon booting my PC: "Windows couldn't start because the following file is missing or corrupt:C:\windows\system32\config\system".

Solution

Install the repare console via CD-Rom
  • Go to: C:\Windows\repair
  • Type the following command:
  • C:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config 
  • Restart your PC.
