Issue
I have installed Steam on my PC and when I want to launch it, the following error message is being displayed:
- Steam.exe (main exception) to run steam you must first connect to the internet.
Solution
- The easiest solution is to disable the Windows firewall or/and your antivirus preventing the update of Steam.
- You can also create an exception for "Steam.exe" For your firewall/antivirus.
- Once done, simply delete the ClientRegistry.blob file located C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam.
- Launch Steam.
