Facebook - Some statistics on the daily data transfers

More than 500 TB of data, the equivalent of the contents of 20,000 single-layer Blu-ray, are uploaded on Facebook servers each day.
  • Jay Parikh, vice-president in charge of infrastructure, presented to the media on Thursday, August 23 some telling statistics about how Facebook works.
  • Every day, 2.5 billion of contents are exchanged, 2.7 billion "Like" of liked button are clicked and 300 million new photos are uploaded. Consequently, the social network servers must process an average of 105TB data each 30 minutes.
