Windows 8.1 - Display file extensions

Windows 8.1 - Display file extensions

As for the previous versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7), Windows 8 automatically hides file extensions (exe, txt, jpeg, etc). If you want to enable the display of file extensions, follow the below procedure:
  • Open Windows Explorer and go to the View tab.
  • Click the Options button > Change folder and search options.
  • Scroll to "Hide extensions for file types is known"
  • Uncheck it and click OK.
