Windows 8.1 - Create a desktop shortcut to the Action Center
The Action Center regroups all the security features/tools of Windows 8.1, such as:
- Recovery tools - System Restore
- Security tools - Firewall, UAC
- Maintenance tools - Drive Status, File History, Automatic tools
To create a desktop shortcut to the Action Center of Windows 8.1, follow the below procedure:
- Do a right Click on your Desktop
- Select >New > Shortcut
- In the field "Type the location of the item" , enter the following:

rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL wscui.cpl
- Click on Next.
- Give a name to your shortcut and validate with the OK button.
