How To Turn Off the Windows 8.1's Location Platform

Windows 8.1 is equipped with a Location platform, which makes sharing your location simpler than ever. When enabled, location-sharing gives you access to location-specific features that would otherwise be unavailable, like some elements of GPS. By default, Windows 8.1 automatically manages your location settings for you, but you can disable this tendency.

This walkthrough will help you turn off Windows 8.1's Location platform.

Disable Windows Location Platform in Windows 8.1

Open the Control Panel, and go to Windows Location platform:



Uncheck the Turn on the Windows Location platform option:


Click Apply to save your changes.
