Music app for Windows 8.1 - Add a folder to your music collection

If you store your music files in folder on a secondary partition or networked drive, it might happen that the Music app of Windows 8.1 won't automatically detect these them. This quick article will teach you how to add a folder to the library of the Music app. The Music app will "watch" the folder and automatically update your media library if files are added or removed.
  • Open the Music app
  • Press Windows key + C to display the Charms bar.
  • Toggle the "Media Info" switch to "Off".
