How to launch Internet Explorer without add-ons

In this FAQ you will learn how to launch the Internet Explorer without add-ons (Tested on Windows 8.1). Add-ons includes:
  • Third party toolbars
  • ActiveX controls
  • Browser extensions

This method allows you to troubleshoot IE in the event that a particular add-on is causing your browser to crash. The procedure is as follows:
  • Open the Run menu (Windows key + X > Run)
  • Type this command and press Enter: iexplore.exe -extoff
