How to Scan For Rootkits with AVG Antivirus Free

The Anti-Rootkit scanner of AVG Antivirus Free is by default disabled as it tends to make the overall scanning process longer. But in situations where the system files have been modified or corrupted by viruses/malwares, rootkit scans are more than necessary. So here's how to run a rootkit scan with AVG:

Launch AVG and click on the cog icon located next to the Scan now button:

Click on the Anti-Rootkit scan button to launch the scan:

You can also configure the advanced settings for the anti-rootkit scanner by clicking on the cog icon:
