Ubuntu - How to Boost the Maximum Volume Level

Here's how to boost up the maximum volume settings in Ubuntu (up to 125%):
  • From Ubuntu's desktop, click on System Settings
  • Go to Hardware>Sounds
  • Go to the Output tab
  • Tick the Allow louder than 100% (may distort sound) checkbox.
  • You can now drag the Output volume slider pass the 100% limitation:
