Opera - Custom Keyboard Shortcuts for Browser Extensions

Besides the basic keyboard shortcuts the Opera browser allows you to define custom ones to launch your installed extensions. This tutorial explains how to create modifier keys to easily access the extensions you use the most.

Open the Opera web browser. Click on the Opera menu, go to Settings > Browser. Scroll to the Shortcuts section, tick the Enable advanced keyboard shortcuts checkbox and then click on Configure shortcuts:

Scroll to the bottom of the Keyboard Shortcuts Window to view all your installed add-ons/extensions. To define a shortcut for a particular extension, select the latter and click in the Type a shortcut field:

Each shortcut consists of a combination of three keys, simply hold down the keys you want to use. You can either start your combination with Ctrl + Shift or Alt + Shift, followed by a letter or number:

If the key combination you have selected is already in use, then Opera will display the below message:

Click on Yes, replace to maintain your choice or No, cancel to use another key combination. Once done click on OK, close Opera settings and test your new shortcut.
